Windermere, Cumbria Montfort Cottage, Windermere, Cumbria, England UK Montfort Cottage is situated in the very heart of the Lake District, within a 10 minute walk of the famous villages of Bowness and Windermere, with their abundance of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs, and a short distance from Lake Windermere itself Montfort Cottage was built in the latter part of the 19th century from Lakeland stone and, although modernised, still retains much of its original charm and character The bedrooms are very tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, and all have en-suite shower rooms except one, which has sole use of a private bathroom. Every room comes equipped with a tea & coffee tray, colour TV/video (with a wide selection of films to choose from), CD/radio player, cuddly toy, hairdryer, alarm clock and iron & ironing board as standard Complimentary use of Parklands Country Club in Bowness is also included. Facilities offered free of charge include the use of the gym, swimming pool, steam bath and sauna For that special occasion, honeymoon or romantic weekend, there are three rooms with four poster beds. Your choice of room can also be upgraded to superior with added extras such as a basket of fruit, additional towels, a daily newspaper and bathrobes
