Our Bed and Breakfast is situated in a small village in the Maconnais wine region, in the far south of Burgundy, bordering the Beaujolais. It is a truly beautiful and quiet village, ideal for those seeking the best that Burgundy has to offer. We will do everything we can to make your stay happy and memorable. Our two ensuite rooms are extremely well appointed, and will provide you with everything you need for a calm and enjoyable stay. The house itself is a stone maison de village and is more than 250 years old. It has a courtyard where you can relax and take in the soft light and quiet that characterize the area. Your hosts know the area well, and can provide you with excellent advice regarding places to go and things to do. Accommodation Chambre Blanche is a large and comfortable double. It is equipped with a super-comfortable queen size bed, antique furniture, and a recently renovated bathroom. In it you will find a modern massage shower, washbasin and toilet. Adjoining the bedroom is a generous kitchenette with breakfast bar, fridge, coffee maker, and everything you would need for self-catering and relaxing. Comfortable chairs and a sofa that converts into an additional bed are included. Chambre Rose is a spacious, open-plan tiled double, incorporating a state-of-the-art spa bath, toilet, towel storage area and breakfast table. The two high quality latex twin beds can be used separately or together as desired. Both rooms are furnished to a very high standard, complete with quality bedding, towels and coffee-making essentials. The Area Igé is a small wine-producing village, situated between Macon, on the river Saone, and Cluny, home to the famous medieval monastery which at one time exercised ecclesiastical control from Portugal in the west through to Poland in the east. Besides these two important centres of interest, Igé is a ten minute drive from Azé, home to extensive cave networks which can be explored with the assistance of local guides. Igé is home to a beautiful chateau, which sits some 100 meters from our Bed and Breakfast. It has an excellent restaurant; one of the best in the area. Burgundy is above all, home to great wines and cuisine. Igé has its own ‘cave cooperative’ and several direct-sale domains, all of which are close by. You can purchase a range of wines; reds, whites and crémant de Bourgogne, a sparkling wine of exceptional subtlety and style. Your hosts can assist with information and advice. Many local restaurants are reasonably priced and serve excellent food. Guests will be provided with maps and all relevant information. Other attractions include walking trails, fishing, forest areas, a nearby swimming pool and facilities for young children. Transport links - Igé is 15km from Macon. We are only 15 minutes from Macon Loché TGV station, which itself is only a 90 minute TGV trip from Paris. Geneva is roughly 130km away. Lyon is 65km to the south. Guests can be supplied with detailed maps and instructions as required.
