La Souterraine, Creuse Maison Durran, La Souterraine, Creuse, France Maison Durran is set in a quite village just outside La Souterraine in the beautiful undiscovered Creuse area of the Limousin in France but just 40 minutes drive away from the low cost airline at Limoges. Our house is over 200 years old and is surrounded by nearly an acre of garden where guests can sit out in the sun or take a refreshing dip in the pool! We offer 5 en suite double bedrooms, which can be supplied with an extra bed or cot if required for a supplement. Meals will be served in our large wooden panelled dinning room with large old oak table, original open marble fireplace and wooden floors. This part of the Limousin has been affectionately nicknamed "the lake district of France" and we are close to 3 of these lakes with all the activities and benefits they can offer. Keen walkers and cyclists will find a map just outside the village church to some well established walks through the village and surrounding area. For those of you with an adventurous spirit just take your pick of the many roads, bridle paths, tracks and lanes that crisscross this beautiful rural hamlet! We can even arrange a packed lunch to keep you going! If you like more hustle and bustle with shops, restaurants and other attractions you are only 40 minutes drive form Limoges. A more gentle shop can be experienced just 10 minutes away at La Souterraine where you can explore the quant cobbled streets to your hearts content with the smell of fresh bread and coffee exciting your senses on nearly every corner! The house has some parking for guests if you want to bring a hire car to get about or maybe your own vehicle. We also have a secure bike shed for those cyclists amongst you. We both live at the house so we are never far away if you wish to check in early or late or need some sightseeing ideas!
