16510 Verteuil sur Charente, Charente Les Bruyeres, 16510 Verteuil sur Charente, Charente, France Restored farmhouse on the banks of the river Charente in a pictoresque village with stunning chateau, shops and bar. Driving through the tranquil countryside of the charente, you’ll find the village of Verteuil sur Charente with its’ magnificent slate roofed chateau looming above the peaceful village. “Les Bruyeres” is on the banks of the river just round the corner from the local shops and bar. Entering the property via a gated courtyard we have 3 spacious, en suite bedrooms, in a converted barn which retains many of the original features such as exposed beams, dressed Charantaise stone walls and even an original feeding trough in the kitchen. One thing we missed when staying in B & B’s was the lack of facilities for making hot drinks, preparing picnics or even cooking a meal. With this in mind we have incorporated a fully fitted kitchen for the exclusive use of our guests. We also provide shampoo, shower gel, tea and coffee, hair driers etc. Whether your house hunting or just enjoying a relaxing break we’re here to make your stay a pleasant one and are more than happy to spend time chatting about the French way of life, places to go and things to see.
