At an altitude of 700m above sea level it boasts a low-humidity temperate climate whilst still being only 42 kilometres from both Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The comfortable en-suite rooms in the Main Lodge and the Annex carry the flavour of Africa, whilst the log cabins with separate ablutions are located in a quiet and beautiful garden-like setting. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the abundant bird life and take a walk in the grounds where you will encounter small wildlife such as Oribi and Duiker. A number of Hamerkop families have made Watervale their home. The more energetic at heart can take a leisurely 5km walk up the valley on the property to take in the stunning views from the 850m high crest whilst also enjoying the fascinating flora en route.
