Aillas, Gironde Dufreche B&B, Aillas, Gironde, France Large farmhouse 40 minutes south-east of Bordeaux, one hour from the French atlantic coast. Set in quiet countryside the property of 20 acres includes a private vineyard and fishing lake. Three letting bedrooms, two doubles, one with double and two single beds. Evening meals can be provided on request, and are usually french-style but other tastes can be accommodated! Pets, children and Bikers are all welcome. Nearest airports: Bordeaux (Air France/BA from Gatwick, Easyjet from Bristol or BMIbaby from Nottingham/Manchester), Bergerac (Ryanair from Stansted or Flybe from Southampton/Bristol) or Toulouse (Easyjet from Bristol/Luton). Airport pickups and local transport can be arranged if you don't drive. Jules and John, her husband, both British, live in a self-contained annex of the farmhouse, and guests can enjoy the use of a large lounge with TV, video, DVD and Karaoke machine. There is also a music room with piano, and a separate dining area. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, both with private bathrooms. Downstairs is the "Louis XVI" bedroom with separate ensuite facilities. Across a quiet lane is a track leading down through the fields to our own vineyard and fishing lake. Jules owns three horses of 15 hands which graze in the open fields. Bicycles are available to explore the local countryside. The local village has a grocery store, restaurant and a church.
